Fixed blade, multi-tool, or folder?
An ACMG hiking guide was telling us that people don't really need to carry a knife in the wilderness. As a survival trainer, I think it's idiotic not to carry atleast a pocket knife or solid multi-tool.
My quest is to find out how many Canadian hikers and backpackers carry a knife with them or not.
If you don't, I'd like to know how come.
Thank you.

Hi Jim D.! Thank you for your answer!
The ACMG guides didn't think anybody should have to carry a knife - they weren't talking about their groups specifically. The ACMG has some out of touch theories on things sometimes.
