Canadian Looking for Comprehensive Healthcare Centre in US

Hi all,

I'm a Canadian with a lot of unusual syndromes/symptoms - in isolation each one has no known cause, however, I just can't believe that all of these things are happening to me and there's no underlying cause. The Canadian healthcare system is alright but I've been waiting close to a year to see a specialist - and that doesn't even include the tests - they will likely take another half a year to complete. If anyone has any leads on a centre that will look at everything in its entirety instead of individual syndromes/symptoms then please let me know. I'm anxious to know either way - whether I have an underlying cause or not. I just want to get on with life!

Thanks!
Katie

Where in the US are you looking for care? There are many famous centers like the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio(check them out as I think they have a web site that deals with second opinions on-line) and then you have the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and then on the east coast there's the Lahey Clinic in Boston. It really depends on where you are in Canada and how far you want to travel. Many large hospitals have specialty clinics.

But I'd check out the first 2 especially the Cleveland Clinic. I had read that you could send MRI's and other test results for their interpretation and all done by mail and on-line. And there are other clinics out west but being in the east, I am more familiar with the eastern ones.

I grew up in Montreal and still have family in parts of the great north so let me know where you are and the how close you want to be.

I concur with those options. You might also add the Kirklin Clinic in Birmingham, Al....it's attached to the UAB Medical School which is one of the top 20 in the US.

Thank you so much Jenny and Titchou for those leads!

I'm in Ontario so Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic are real possibilities. Also, it's interesting that you could mail your results from previous tests and get a second opinion. I'm guessing that I don't need to have some of these tests again, rather that there may be a few additional tests that would be worthwhile.

Again - thank you!!!
