Can your boss send an email from your business account pretending to be you?

I was out of the office sick for a few days, and upon returning I received a reply in my email from someone that I did not contact. I read the history of the email that was attached and here my boss emailed this individual on one of the days I was out sick and did not delete my email signature or say he was emailing on my behalf or even identify that it was him that sent the email and not in fact me. The message wasn't anything bad, but it disturbed me that he did not identify himself as the sender. As far as the person knew, they were responding to me and I was not even there. When I asked him about this, he acted like I shouldn't be upset by this. I know as far as business email accounts go-they can be monitored, but this is my identity we are talking about. Does anyone know my rights here? I am leaving this employer due to various reasons, one being that he is extremely insensitive to others and I just cannot work for someone who treats people so badly, but I wanted to know if I would be within my rights to take any actions against him. Any advice would be appreciated.
