I got a hairline fracture in my fibula 4 days ago. My ortho doctor took off the splint the ER put on and told me I could walk without my crutches. The doctor at the ER told me I would need the splint for 4-6 weeks to keep it immobilized so it would heal properly. I don't have insurance and can't afford a third opinion. Can anyone (preferrably someone with medical training or someone who's been through this) give me one?
