Can you walk me through software install for new samsung tab?

Bought a new samsung tab, but I live in Taiwan so most of the stuff is in chinese. I'm not sure I did it right. Especially when I connect to kies on my pc, it says something about idle mode and won't recognize the tab. With the purchase I got 3 discs: popago, and disc1 & 2 for kies.
