Can you use WiFi on the HTC HD2 for browsing etc?

I have t-mobile and if i buy the hd2 from a third party (not tmobile), can i use wifi to browse and recieve emails and youtube, etc, and not pay for a data plan?

or does the hd2 not support wifi browsing?

also, while typing on the QWERTY, can you rotate the device horizontally and type that way?
