Can you use an AT&T blackberry on the verizon network?

I just got a blackberry bold 9700, but our family plan is switching to verizon soon which means I will have to give up my new phone. Is there any way to keep my phone but still use it at verizon?
 
Unfortunately, no. If you were switching to T-Mobile, then yes, as AT&T and T-Mobile use the same wireless technology. Verizon uses a completely different wireless technology than AT&T, T-Mobile, or Sprint however, so the phone will not work on their network.
