can you use a regular ATT sim card in a GoPhone w/o extra charges?

I know the gophone will work because I put in my ATT sim card and I can make calls. But I received a message that said "Airtime bonus minutes will be applied to your rollover account within 48 hours." I want to know what this means and if my ATT account will be charged for using the gophone.
