Can you use a ps3 on a normal tv ?

Hi, i'm thinking of buying a 40GB ps3 but am not sure if it will work on my tv, my tv is NOT flatscreen, it is not anything amazing just a normal TV. I don't know the details but it is a sharp.

P.S: Are they easy to set up?

Any help would be very usefull, thnx.
