Can you tell me what I am doing wrong with photography?

When I do a photo of a person, I do okay with head shots, but when it comes to full body, I don't seem to be able to get the person to fill the frame. Is it the lens? The person looks very small in the picture. Am I explaining myself? Thanks for your help. I an email you an example if you will let me. Thanks again.
 
Well, you have to zoom in on the subject. If you don't have a zoom option on your lens or camera, you need to step closer to the subject.
