I'm looking at colleges for next year, and I'm seriously considering the Columbus College of Art and Design. The whole starving-artist idea rather frightens me, so I worry about not having much of an education in areas besides art that I could have a career in if plan A doesn't work. My grades and ACT scores are exceptional (a GPA over 4.0 and an ACT score over 30), so my Mom encourages me to go to college for something other than art.
My solution was to go somewhere, probably the Ohio State University, and double major in Art and maybe English...
Now that I've gotten entirely off topic, my question is this: How are the art programs at state universities? (If anyone knows about OSU's in particular, input would be greatly appreciated) Would you get an education similar to someone who might take, say, Illustration at CCAD or some other art college?
Any advice would be wonderful!!!
