you need your provisional before you can apply for your cbt
the cbt only entitles you to ride a restricted 125 at 17.
To ride the bike you chose you need a full motorbike licence which at 17 is going to be a restricted full licence of 33 BHP power or less.
So
1 apply for provisional
2 apply and take CBT
3 take theory test and apply for test
4 Take restricted test *( suggest 3 day training course)
5 then you can buy your 300 cc bike

get caught riding a bigger bike than you are entitled too or without a licence then expect a minimum of a years ban and points on your licence and not being able to afford to insure a vehicle until you are 25...

Im 17 at the moment, I want to go for my CBT thats for 125cc bikes,

But there's this bike i really want to buy, its the Nexas Gilera, the engine is around 220cc-500cc on each bike.

And coz its still looks like a scooter (to me). Am i allowed to ride it on a 125cc CBT licence?

Or because its got a bigger engine than normal scooters, is it classed as a motorbike? And would i have to get a Motorcycle licence to be able to ride it?

by the way.... Im a girl, and im not going to lie, i do feel a little embarassed becoz, ive only seen mainly boys on scooters and bikes. is it ok for a girl to be a biker?

And can apply for just for the CBT without a provisional?

thanks x x x
