I was woken up this morning to a knock on the front door at my boyfriend's house. I answered the door and it was a cop. He said that his uncle was filing a restraining order against him. Okay first, his uncle is, well, a few french fries short of a happy meal. My boyfriend's uncle is also filing a restraining order against his brother which is my boyfriend's dad. My boyfriend's dad and my boyfriend don't EVER talk to his uncle. He claimed his dad shot him with a BB gun which is not true. I'm not sure what he is saying about my boyfriend because I didn't see the papers. My boyfriend has no contact with him ever. His uncle is the one who shows up randomly at his house and my boyfriend makes him leave. Now getting to my question. Since he has to go to court for this and we are planning a trip to Hawaii October 17th-24th and what if it happens on that date? Can he reschedule it for sooner or later then our trip?
And can someone tell me how a restraining order cause works? And the cop even told me they were aware of mental problems with his uncle then why are they letting him proceed with the hearings? I know the first part is kind of pointless but I just wanted to give the whole story. Thank you!
