No you can't. It's good that you don't feel like you wanna spend alot of money for studio time, and I agree, recording at home works just fine, you just the proper equipment.
First of all, your gonna wanna download Audacity. Just go to Download.com and Search 'Audacity' and Download the first one.
If you need help on how to use Audacity, go on YouTube and search "Audacity tutorial" and it will give you the basics.
If you don't feel like you wanna download any software, that's cool you can also use the default recording software.
Go to Start > all programs > Applications > Entertainment > Sound Recorder.
