Can you recommend me a good book in French?

I was in Paris for four months and after that I took another french class, so my french right now is at a beginer-intermediate level. I want to read some good french book. Can you recommend me one?
I like Suspence, Drama and Romance but any thing modern and with good reviews will do! Thanks.
