The American west, with its beauty, glory, and charm, is the most honest aspect of our nation. It is adventurous, bold, brave, and sincere. The West has allowed our country to fulfill its desire- the Manifest Destiny. The Manifest Destiny, however, should not be confused with imperialism. Imperialism is a source of evil, and I express hatred and condemnation for it and all of its forms. The United States annexing other nations, such as Hawaii and the Philippines, is tyrannical and self-fish. Imperialism is simply a political way to take control of land outside of our own- land that not only is not ours, but should never be under our control and power. I, being the vice-president for the American Anti-Imperialism League, know best the fine line between expansion and despotic behavior. American control of the West takes the form of expansionism; it is rightfully our territory. We are simply exploring and examining our land, and there are no persons there who object. But imperialism itself has the nature of supremacy; allowing the United States to dominate in yet another style. Imperialism seeks only the benefits for one country- and this is unacceptable.

THANKS SO MUCH =]
