...overly gruesome and gorey.? I finally am reading Book of The Dead. Now she ruined Marino and his relationship with Kay forever, Lucy is some sort of cold hearted Super Bot, Benton is a petulant whiner and Kay-What a self absorbed arrogant, cold hearted witch.
Not only that but the murders are getting more and more drawn out, gruesome, and way too much detail. Book of the dead I skipped the whole first chapter which was page after page of a horrible sadistic torture murder.
Do I really need that much detail
There are more clinical autopsy chapters than story content. When you arent being subjected to every bloody detail of the murder, we are peering into the monsters thoughts and hearing more horror.
On top of that I despise the characters now. Should I just start reading something else. Any Suggestions?
 
I'd read something else. Yeah I'm not a big fan of the Scarpetta books anymore either. The early ones weren't so bad but I don't like the new ones. I think they should just kill Kay Scarpetta off and start a whole new series with something a little different, not a spin-off with another one of the characters from the Scarpetta books.
