I've been told that because bettas are very territorial, that even a female shouldn't be put in the tank with them. If so, then how do they mate?
Also, my male betta doesn't react when I put a mirror or another male betta before him(separated by a clear divider). What's his problem?
And lastily, the bubbles! I have read that nothing can be done about the bubbles, but I've tried putting a female with my male, and he attacked her (she later died). So if they're so ready to mate, then why did he kill her?
Finally, is colour an issue? The female was a deep crimson (red), while my male is pink and blue. Could it be that he disliked her color?
