can you put a cummings motor in a 01 dodge ram 1500?

how hard would it be to put a dodge cummings in a 2001 dodge ram 1500 and if you can do it how much would it cost for the swap

The engine will fit and give the same performance as it does in the factory diesel version. It will be some work converting the electronics, fuel tank etc. for the diesel engine. Cost would be high if you had a shop do the work. Not worth the effort, as you could buy a diesel version for less than you would invest in the conversion.

you can do it but the cost is three times what it would cost to go out and buy a truck with one in it,and its really not worth doing,you,d literally have to have another whole truck to work with because everything on the truck has to be changed right down to the fuel lines and all the wiring,cost wise it wouldn't be worth doing ,good luck.

Why don't you buy another truck with the diesel motor?
It could be done as any engine swap can be done but it will be expensive.
