I will now explain these changes in birth rates in the UK. Now a day there is greater chance of surviving because of improvement of health care. Therefore this means that individual no more need to give birth to a lot of children. There was an increased of free contraception in 1960 so women would be able to have greater control of giving their bodies such as giving birth to a child. Contraception also now a day has become more and more reliable and has as well become more acceptable. Today’s women may want to have a career as well as greater success in their lives due to contraceptive pills and contraception. Women independent happened when women had more control over their bodies and over their lives , they had some personal independence they had no more need of giving birth to too many babies as they did not want a bigger family. Technological innovations: Changes happened and children became more expensive. Every child left school after they were 16 in the 1973 and many more children chose to progress their education until they became twenty year. Therefore for economic reason women or individuals were more convinced to have smaller families. There has been better health care since the 1940 such as improvement of the NHS in care services so big families were of no importance anymore.
