Can you play college sports on probation?

i was arrested for prtty theft a while back, and put on probation for 3 years! i was thinking about trying out for my local colleges football or Baseball team and i was wondering if i am eligable bc of my mistake i made! and i am over 18.

also, can you accept scholarships wile on probation?
 
Yes, you will be eligible. The question is will the team want you? Coaches have enough to worry about without someone who has had legal trouble. The sad fact is, it may also depend on how good of a player you are.
