Can you over fish in Animal Crossing?

Ok, the first few days of this month when all of the new June fish appeared there were tons of them, but now that it's nearing the middle of the month all that I can catch are the usual Mackerel, Carp, Sea Bass etc. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

You cannot kill or endanger a popultation. They will regenerate and you will be able to catch more. Some go away during the day or at night. Some only come when it's raining. Some may only come at the begining of the month, not at the middle or the end. Depends on the time for some fish, just wait for a while. Or read a fishing guide on gamespot.
