Can you lift the wipers off the windshield of a Jeep Cherokee (XJ)?

On most vehicles, you can lift the wipers off the windshield (for the night before ice or snow or when replacing the windshield). I cannot seem to find a way to do this on a Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 2001. Am I missing something obvious, or is it only possible to temporarily lift them a few inches, with no mechanism to keep them off the windshield overnight?

By the way, does anyone recommend any particular brand or style of replacement windshield wipers?
 
You can life them but it is recommened a technician does it as it is a highly dangerous task for an untrained indiviudal.
