I want to know if it's necessary to use any special underlayment, or any additional steps required to successfully lay ceramic tile over a wood plank floor. Thanks!
There is a sub floor under the wood, so it doesnt move at all that I can tell. The wood floor is very nice, so I'm not tearing it up. Its in a bathroom, so i'd prefer nice tile. I dont want to add anything thick under te tile, because the same wood floor contines through the whole house, and the extra inch will be a trip hazard. I like the slate tile, but i'm thinking about the cheaper faux slate type. Thanks. I thought there might be a thin underlayment that would meet my needs.
