Can you keep a beta fish with community tropical fish?

I have a freshwater tropical community tank and I have a beta with is own bowl. I was wondering if I could put the Beta in the Tropical Aquarium with other fish. I have three red wags and four gouramis. can i do this?

The only issues iv had with my Beta is that he cant be in the same tank as any fish with a long or big Tail/Back fin?
Because, When betas try to show that they are bigger and better, they flair out their tails/necks.

I guess my beta just felt likee they were trying to show off their tails, if they have small tails, it should be fine
