She isn't that great but I've heard worse. It sounds like shes concentrating too much on technique and not actually hitting the notes. But honestly, without accompaniment it's hard to hit the right notes, especially if it's a song you made up. Since the notes aren't really defined. Also, like a lot of beginners just trying to imitate the singers in their favorite music, they end up sounding a bit nasally and unclear. A good way to prove this is to have her hold her nose and sing. It'll end sounding really stupid like the way you sound when your talking and you hold your nose. However, when you learn to sing right, you sing from much deeper in your throat so holding your nose would have little effect on your singing. Just like if you sing correctly, it won't aggravate a sore throat when you have a cold.
But either way, 11 is a little too early to have your chords developed anyway so don't take criticism too hard. Just sing in the shower and don't go professional till you hit puberty, okay?
