I am trying to join the Army and the recruiter said I need my husband's birth certificate, social security card and our marriage certificate. Well we have been separated (not legally) for almost 3 years now, we both live in different states now, and all the contact info I have for him is his email and when I asked if he would help me and send the documents he told me to never contact him again. If a default/missing person divorce was possible then I would do it, but it's not so please don't say I should just divorce him. I tried once and he contested and now neither one of us can afford the mess he turned it into. So now it sits until I have the time and money to do a missing person divorce since I don't know where he lives. I just know what state he's in. Anyway, I know I should just ask the recruiter on Monday but I was hoping to get some sort of answer before then if anyone knew.
