It began with the shooting of a guy who worked in a pizza bar. I think Harvey Keitel was in it. It also featured a boy who was constantly drinking some form of medication from a bottle.

Also a boy shot a guy dead close to the end

Sorry that's not much to go on, I think it was a Spike Lee film?
