I started hearing noises in the rear end so I hoisted it up so the tires were off the ground. I then started it up and and put it in gear and the tires wouldn't spin but the drive shaft would. Then when I put it in park the drive shaft would still move! Is this supposed to happen when you have the truck hoisted up or is there something wrong with my transmission? I would like to know this because if the tranny is shot I might just buy a new truck instead of buying a new rear end and transmission.
