can you help me in picking a spark plug for my bike?

right now i am running a br9es IN MY KX250 2 STROKE and the ceramic is black and before in warmer temperatures it was golden brown same plug. my manual says it the ceramic is black i should go to the next hottest plug . is this true ? should i use br8eg or br7eg ? and plus the outside temps are varying from 5-8 degrees Celsius
