He's been looking for a job for months and can't get one that will take uni students (he's 18 and needs to do at LEAST 40 hours coursework per week). He can't do labour for health reasons. He can't afford to live out of home, but his parents give him no financial support and are (non physically) abusive and he wants to move out of home. He isn't eligible for and Centrelink payments because his parents earn too much but don't give him anything. Centrelink said they couldn't help him. He doesn't' have anyone to help him and I am on Centrelink myself and only get barely enough to support myself. My mother is also a student with 6 month old baby and can't afford more electricity and food to have him stay with us because she is also on Centrelink, as we are both University students in rental accommodation and there literally isn't enough space in our tiny place. Now his parents are even punishing him for not being able to get a job (there is a job crisis here) and have funnelled the fuel out of his car (that I paid for) so he can't go anywhere. He can't press charges because he will get thrown out and have no where to go.
What can he do? He has already taken a semester off uni to try to get a ob and save enough money to go back to uni in the meantime but couldn't get a stable job the entire time due to staff cuts etc. He applies for mulitple josb per day but with no luck due to all businesses here being after full time workers. We live in Brisbane QLD.
