I am planning a homebirth and plan to have the newborn screening done, but I live in Texas and they keep the sample indefinitely instead of disposing of it after the test, which I am SO not okay with. Who knows what somebody could use my child's DNA for later. Can I have my baby in Texas but have the screening sent off to a lab in, say, Arizona?
