Can you guys help me find a good phone?

Budget is about $260 CAD
Buying my first cell phone.
I don't really know what to look for, I do know I want one with 2megapixel camera and flash.

Right now Im deciding between Samsung 707sc,706sc, Motorola RIZR z3, or Sony K610i.

I like the look of the Samsung 707sc but since it doesn't have expandable memory, the closest one to is is 706sc which I don't like as much but it has expandable memory.
The RIZR has the specs I need and its pretty nice looking, not as nice as the 707sc or 706sc
The Sony seems to have the best specs but I don't like the look.

Suggestions?
 
The two Samsungs and the K610 are all triband. So depending on where you're going to use the phone they may not be the best bet. You may receive poor reception. To be safe it's a good idea to make sure the phone has the 850 and 1900 bands (the bands is use in North America).

If you're looking for a phone with a decent camera. You can get a Sony Ericsson K790 in your price range. It has an excellent camera and overall it's a fairly solid phone.

Anything else you're looking for? For instance, which form factor do you prefer (clamshell, bar, slider, etc.)
 
First of all, you need to pick a carrier that provides the best coverage where you will use the phone, where you live, work, travel, play, etc.

Then pick the phone.
 
I'll be using Rogers Canada network.
I checked out the k790, and its pretty good, but I cant find a seller selling it new. I found a used flashed one in good condition at the top of my budget.
The next closest one do that is the D900. I cant find any new ones, but found a used one on craiglist for around the same price as the K790.

Which of them has better phone features and camera features?

I kinda like the slider format better than the candy bar format.
What type of flash does the D900 have? LED?

Which of the two would you guys think is better?

Also what should i look for when buying a used phone? Call time?
 
To me they're about equal. The K790 has the better camera. The D900 is small.

Take a look at this. It compares the photo quality of both phones. (The K800 is pretty much the same thing as the K790).

You should be able to at least get the k790 new. Are you in a major city?
 
how much stuff do you wanna save on ur phone? 707sc has 130mb internal memory...not really good but it does the job if you're not gonna save much stuff on it
i like 707sc cuz its such a nice lookign phone
 
Since you're in Vancouver that expands your options. I've used triband phones in Vancouver without any problems.

Also, check out www.revscene.net. It's a popular cell phone classfieds service for Vancouver. Look in the forums.
