can you get std's from sex?

hi i have male friend who i have relationship with and he say to me
that he cannot give me stds with sex
cause his sperm is sterile he cannot have babies

is this correct should i get test?

std's have nothing to do with sterile sperm. this just means you can't get pregnant but you can still get std's. i would be careful anyway, how does he know his sperm is sterile? there's always that chance. be careful
 
Uh, yeah! This is like a "blonde moment" kind of question, c'mon I knew this before I was 12, when sex ed began upon us.
 
yes he can give you STD's, it has nothing to do with the sperm. Most STD's are transferred by genital contact alone, not to mention the semial fluid (clear part of the ejaculate) is usually where most STD's are found. Also males are carriers of certain diseases like HPV, we show no symptoms of the disease but transmit it to females which is the main causative factor of cervical cancer.
