Can you get changes in your cycle?

Ok so me and my partner have been trying for about 10 months, but with no success and me getting stressed with it we decided last month to stop ish, as I haven't gone back on my pill. I was due on a week ago today and haven't except for yesterday I thought I had come on so put in a tampon but hardly anything on there, and again with the second one I put in. So went to bed last night and didn't put anything in and there was nothing there this morning not even when I wiped. I did a test a couple of days ago which came up negative, so just wondering what's going on with my period, as since I came off the pill they've been regular and heavy. Had a similar sort of thing last month with the little bit of bleeding over a few days then my period but that was only 2 days late and this is a week late and had one day of little bleeding and now nothing. Just wondering if your periods can change dramatically or if it's worth me going to the doctors? Not under any stress or anything at the moment either. Thankyou
