i got stuck in a flood, a mechanic friend guided me on simple steps to get some of the water out...after a week i tried starting it and it did but kept making a loud bang in the engine and would shut off....is there hope for it or just take the 8000 from the insurance company for my 2001 integra GSR 
i did i changed the engine oil, oil filter, bought new spark plugs and air filter and put those in after no more water squirted out...the noise is on the left hand side...sound like a bar clunking like a circle...
