so i really want media center for the upcoming xbvox live with skyplayer and i hear u need media center so im getting media center but do not want to format my harddrive as i have alot of files i do not want to back up becausae there tyo large but i kknow how to create partitions and have a 200gb harddrive so i can split that in half :) but do you think its possible to dual boot these two together?
I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO REINSTALL WINDOWS XP
i already have xp installed i think it shud work with media centre on the next partition

Partition the hard drive (at least 2 partitions)
Install WMC on the first partition, first.
Then install WinXP on the 2nd partition - during this process WinXP will detect the existing OS and ask you appropraiate questions. Just follow the prompts not to override WinMC and install WinXP on the second patition.

As a result of this process, WinXP will create a boot.ini file that, when you start your computer, offers you the opportunity to start up MC or XP - and also includes a default option after 30 secs. This boot file can be edited to reverse the default option and reduce/increase the time. So yea it is possible to boot WinXp Pro with Media Center. Best wishes to you!
