Aside from creating a new account.
The only thing I can do is to add details to my post, but if I'm answer a person, I don't think that he or she is notified when my question is updated. And once a question is updated, you rarely go back.
and if the person doesn't allow email(becomes a more personal 1-1 discussion then..) the only way to ask for clarification is through "best answer" as far as I know.
Is it that the setup of Yahoo answers isn't really designed for this and that I should take my dreams of collaboration and discussion into a forum. (however niched, non mainstream, and rarely visited, it is)
