Can you disable the Tungsten's green Charging LED?

I've got a Tungsten T from 2002 that I just bought a battery pack for. I want to be able to disable the charging LED on the Tungsten so that it doesn't drain while the battery pack is attached (as far as the Tungsten knows, it's sitting in a cradle, not on a battery pack) Anyone know if the LED is hard-wired or u-processor controlled? And if it is controllable, anyone know of a hack to do so? If you don't know but know of a developer site that you think will help me out, I'll take it! Thanks. -Joe

Joe,

As far as I know, the green LED is part of the charging circuit and disabling the green LED would also disable the charging circuit. The LED should only come on while you are using the battery pack for recharging and the additional drain on the batteries to run the LED is trivial. I've never seen any software or hardware that would do what you want.
