If I'm against welfare, I'm a racist. If I'm against redistribution of wealth, I'm for rich fat cats. If I'm against more government spending packages, I'm cold hearted. If I'm against abortion, I'm a fascist bigot who just wants to control you. If I don't believe human activity is what's causing global warming, I'm a holocaust denier.

These have to be the only options right? It can't be that I actually believe in what's best for everyone, can it?

It can't be that, I don't believe in welfare because I believe, all of that money could go to a different approach that might work better than just causing dependency.

It can't be that, I don't believe in redistribution of wealth because once you give the government the power to take from the rich, historically they always move on to the the poor also.

It can't be that, I'm against more spending packages because, I really believe in helping people with private business opportunities works better.

It can't be that, I'm against abortion because, I don't care about controlling you, I just simply believe a fetus is a life.

It can't be that, I don't believe human activity is causing global warming because, many scientists have evidence of it and from the logic that we only have 150 years of data compared to billions that the earth has been here.

It can't be any of those reasons. It has to be those stereotypes at the top. I can't have logical reasons for my beliefs .... can I?
