Can you catch fish in the wild for your aquarium?

Not that I would, this is just a hypothetical question. But I was watching blue planet the other night and it was about coral reefs. And i was thinking about how when I went snorkling this summer you could see some pretty fish.

So hypothetically can you catch wild fish and put them in your aquarium?
 
Here in Australia, a lot of people take fish off the reef (for personal or retail purposes) for fish tanks......I'm pretty sure its illegal, but I know it happens.
Hypothetically you can do it, but you have to quarantine the fish first incase they have any diseases/parasites.

YES U CAN i've done it i've got a bass i cought (largemouth) and hes been in my tank about 4-5 months he eats alot but yea u can and the PH should be like a 6.5 or 7 but hes usually in 7.2 PH water and 78-80 degrees and hes fine soo yess u absolutly can and if u dont believe me go on youtube and look up "largemouth bass " or "largemouth bass eating" and u'll see other people have done it too
