Can you bend the crank on a bmx bike?

Hell yes you can bend the crank. Now it sounds like you may need a new crank. And even if you don't, I'd suggest getting one anyways.

I don't ride BMX, so I can't suggest a good crank.

I have a redline frame and single piece crankset, and when I took the bike off of a kicker ramp, I noticed that the sproket was not straight and the chain kept clicking and would eventually fall off of the track. I made sure the sprocket wasnt bent, but I noticed that when I spun the pedals, it looked almost as if the crank inside of the frame was bent. When I took the crank off, I couldnt tell if it was bent because the inside already comes bent so that you can feed it through the frame. I did notice that when I layed the crank shaft down on to the ground, it didnt lay flat and one side came off of the ground a little more than half an inch. Is it possible that I bent it? It is a redline, and I was only about 3 ft off of the ground, but I do weigh 175 lbs...

Any help would be much appreciated

I was talking to a bmx bike repairmen saying that a 1 piece crank is a bad choice for bmxing and freestyle/flatland/vert/street and thats why they made the 3 piece cranks. I know this isnt a good answer but the 3 piece cranks are very durable, trustworthy, and hard as hell to bend. While 1 piece cranks are technicaly crap.

Go to danscomp.com even though its expensive they are really good. You are better off buying a new crank before you screw up anything else.

Yes and if you have bent the crank itself you'll need a new one. What is more likely is that you have bent one of the pedal arms or the bolt that the actual pedal attaches to. Bent frames are more common I have never actually bent the crank myself but have broken many a frame and bent alot of pedal arms. It's worth the extra money to buy what the guys at the bike shops tell you to buy. They know their stuff and they want you to be happy with your purchase so you come back and buy more stuff at their store.
