Can you be a graduate assistant coach with an undeclared major?

I am planning on becoming a graduate assistant coach and am currently applying to a business school to get my MBA. The coach at the school has already stated I could get the position, but I am wondering if I don't get accepted to the MBA program if I can still be an undeclared graduate student (which is allowed at this university) and be the graduate assistant coach. Obviously I would still apply to get my MBA after I finish the first 12 hours.
