Can you add Javascript code for a popup window to a custom html module in Joomla 1.5?

I'm looking to have a pop up window show up on the front page of a Joomla 1.5 site. Can I add Javascript for this to a custom html module that shows on the front page of the site?

Are there any other ways to get a Javascript pop up to show up on the front page of a Joomla 1.5 site?
