Can you add a monthly texting plan to a T-Mobile pre-paid plan?

I have 'gold rewards" with T-Mobile prepaid, and I don't talk on the phone much. However, I would like to begin texting. I was wondering if T-Mobile would add a monthly messanging plan to pre-paid. I know they offer an unlimited messaging for like $25.
