Can you accept or support the Christian lifestyle?

If not, how do you feel about Christians.

Frankly although I don't agree with it or like it, I support their right to chose do what Christian things they like within reason.

However, I don't support their right to marry, as this is a special privilege, that some don't have, and I am anti-discrimination.

I like the people, but I would like them better if they didn't believe certain things or do weird Christian things.

As an atheist my personal belief is that most Christians delusional.

BUT - I live my life primarily to the Christian ethic and the teachings of the Bible. I just don't believe in God. In my 58 years on this World I have met some very good Atheists and some very bad Christians. I can also count among my closest friends a Lutheran pastor and an ex-crack addict. It is not what a person believes that makes them good or bad; it is their actions as a human being and a member of society that makes them what they are. Anyone can pound on a Bible and proclaim themselves to be a good Christian but that doesn't make it so.

You can't blame the lifestyle for the weird tendencies of the followers. A lot of us Christians are really nice people, but you only hear about the ones that are kind of Jesus freaks, because those are the ones that pop in your face.

We're just normal people, and most of us just want to be left alone.

I'm not exactly sure what a "Christian" lifestyle is. I've known many Christians (all self-proclaimed, of course) and their lifestyles varied from one to another.

I understand where you're going with this, and all I can say is that I believe two people who love each other should have the right to marry. Marriage is not an exclusive right for those who are religious.

I am sorry that we do not fit your pagan ideas of what is acceptable and what is not, but our God's ideas of what is acceptable and what is not, is all that concerns us, as it should. What you want is what happened to the church in Rome and it became the church Of Rome.

'within reason'

But most of them lack reasoning.

It is damn near impossible for christians to keep their religion to themselves. fundies want to change non believers and laws based on their idiotic bible because GOD TELLS ME SO.

How can you reason with someone who believes an invisible sky fairy is telling them things?!

Personally I think all religious people are brainwashed idiots. Not just christians but all religions. If there was no religion there would be much less hatred in the world.

I like some Christians, especially the Uniting Church here in Australia.

They do good work in the community, they are all nice people and they aren't bigots. I go to their Church because I like the social aspect of hanging around and even helping out nice people, doing good things. I'm an atheist.

I have a passionate hatred for groups like the Westboro Baptist Church, and any christian denomination that would use the message of Jesus (which as far as I can comprehend is supposed to be about love) to preach hatred, and bigotry, and use scripture to foster ignorance and hypocrisy.

Everything has it's pros and cons.

I think we should support lifestyle choices like Christianity, no matter how silly of a lifestyle it is.

Firstly there is nothing weird with what believe in!!!! Im already christian and love my lifestyle because Jesus helps me through everything and i support every christian!

No one is forced to get married in Christianity it is a privelige!!!

I am not sure what I did to warrant you blocking my first account.
But go ahead and block this account to. It will save both of us sometime.

"However, I don't support their right to marry, as this is a special privilege, that some don't have, and I am anti-discrimination."

Lol, one problem. Marriage was "invented" by God. The Christian God. It wasn't a man's "good idea" but a blessing from God Himself.

"However, I don't support their right to marry, as this is a special privilege, that some don't have, and I am anti-discrimination."
Umm..

Anyway I support everyone's right to live within their beliefs as long they they don't bring harm to others.

i get where you are coming from-

HOWEVER, one can more easily make an argument for restricting a person's rights based upon a choice than a biological genetic predisposition towards one sex or another "AHEM"- i mean one religion or another.

seriously though-

one could just as easily argue, that due to the long sweeping nature of brainwashing and indoctrination into religion, that it is just as easily "genetic" since your genes and parents determine who you are born to since you have no choice if you were born to a zealotous fundie couple, or a more logical intellectual non-religious couple.

however, i find it distatstefull to attack people on thier BELIEFS so long as those beliefs are not pushed or imposed on others through force, extortion, or subterfuge(pushing those beliefs into laws- unless of course there is an INDEPENDANT societal basis for the law- ie: no theft).

I can support aspects of the Christian lifestyle. I'm all for letting them marry, even though their high divorce rate is really destroying the institution of marriage. I just don't like discriminating against anything except coercive marriage practices. (Like making a pregnant teenage get married to "save her soul" or religiously mandated polygyny.)
