Can Yaz Help?

I was just prescribed Yaz, not for acne though. I remerabered reading how yasmin had worked wonders for some people, but I couldnt remeraber if that was the one when I was in my doctor's office, so I asked for Yaz instead. I wanted to know if anyone had used Yaz and noticed any change in how their skin looked?
 
Tilly- bc is obviously a personal choice. When I was on Yasmin my skin was basically clear and I even lost weight.But I also lost my hair - about 50% of it. I know there are alot of posts out there about this happening to others as well. Yaz may help your acne but be watchful, and moniter any side effects carefully.I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. You said you lost about 50% of your hair, you mean as in the hair out of your head? I've been searching around a bit for a birth control that could also help clear up my skin, but if hair loss is one of the side effects of Yaz, I'm not sure I want to take that chance. Could you tell me about some of the other side effects you experienced while on Yaz?
 
Thanks for the info. I've never heard of anyone losing their hair before,but I will pay attention to any side effects. I was on ortho for a couple of years, but started to get worse breakouts than when I was a teenager. Now in my 20's, I'm going through this all over again. I'm still in the first month, so I haven't noticed anything yet.
 
I had well bad acne and went on yasmin and it cleared my skin totally. I only got the odd spot while on it. However i came off it after taking it for 5 years and within 3 months coming off it my skin got worse than ever. I kept trying every year or 2, but again every time after 3 months would come back. Every time i went back on it it cleared it up though. Im on roaccutane now. The only reason i came off yasmin was becuse i had i would of stayed on it forever otherwise as its really good.
