Can Xbox 360's play Xbox games? (Easy Points)?

I want to buy a game, but it isn't on Xbox 360, only normal Xbox. Will it/Can it play?
 
It can play some. Check the backwards compatibility list here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm before you buy it. You will need to download and install the required update. You can get this automatically from Xbox Live when you put in the game or from xbox.com if you don't have Live. You must have a hard drive to play backwards compatible games on the 360.
