I work for a city, a big city, and we have mandatory pensions for retirement. In addition, I also have my own retirement/401K. Can the "work mandated" pension contributions be written off on my taxes? I know my 401K is tax deductible so I know that cannot be written off. I'm not sure about the other one we are "forced" to have is though. I pay about $200/biweekly into it.
