Can Windows Media Player play mp4 videos?

I really need it to, but everytime I try WMP freezes and closes.

I don't think it can, but you can install iTunes for free and it's made to play mp4's

forget windows "version million" player.. that cant play crap, but is a giant programs that eats up resources.

this download includes "windows media player classic" a bare bones version, that does only one thing: play every type of video and audio. .. also includes all the codec to play anything.

ive been using it for two years... awesome.
